More about us At Guitar Break we know that not everyone wants to be the next Hendrix. And not everyone desires fame and fortune, or even to make a living from their instrument. But equally we know there are thousands of guitarists out there who take their playing very seriously. They want to improve, play with more feeling, realise technical advancement and generally know that they’re moving forward. We have selected a number of hotels in beautiful surroundings, where a limited number of guitarists can receive ‘real-world’ guitar tuition of the highest standard, from some of the country’s most respected players and guitar tutors. The Guitar Break weekends feature top guitar tutors such as Nevlle Marten, Jason Sidwell, Dave Kilminster, Phil Hilborne, Guthrie Govan and David Mead. Guitar Break strives to bring you the best guitar tuition to all the weekend breaks. We trust that the beautiful, relaxed surroundings, the proximity of like-minded individuals and the country’s most respected tutors constantly on-hand, will combine to make the Guitar Break weekends a truly worthwhile and memorable occasion.
Weekend Courses Over the course of a Guitar Break weekend (10am Saturday morning to 5pm Sunday afternoon), guitarists of a similar standard will play together, receive top advice in their chosen style of music, jam with renowned tutors, learn new skills and go home musically refreshed and inspired. Lunch is included, with free tea, coffee and light refreshments on tap all day. Classes start at 10am and finish at 5pm. On the Saturday evening the tutors will play for the students, and those who fancy it can get up and play, sing and generally make merry. We ask that guests make their own arrangements for accommodation as everyone has different requirements. We have special rates with the venues. Special interest classes from guest tutors will be held after lunch on Sunday, and the weekend will finish with students demonstrating their newfound skills in front of the assembled classes (optional!).
One-day Courses The one-day courses offer an equally intensive and entertaining course structure to the weekends but doesn't include any overnight stays. This allows Guitar Break to cater for more guests and keep the tuition more affordable for most. Lunch and all-day refreshments will be provided on the courses and should guests want to arrange their own accommodation with the venues then they are quite welcome to. Guitar Break can offer guest discounts in association with the venues.
The Guitar Break Takeaway Here at Guitar Break we are launching a ground-breaking new concept called the The Guitar Break Takeaway which means that you can ‘order out’ for our guitar tuition. The concept is quite simple, get some friends, family or colleagues together for your own Guitar Break experience live in a venue of your choice. Our very own Neville Marten and Jason Sidwell will come to a venue of your choice and impart their wisdom, experience and talent for a one day session (8 hours). That venue could be your front room, your office, your garden or even the poolside patio of your penthouse suite. In short, our guitar gurus will visit you wherever you are in the world*. You can choose from a range of styles and musical genres such as our popular Blues Rock, Rock, Country, Funk and Rock N Roll. It’s your takeaway so you can choose. Alternatively, you can create your own bespoke event catering to any style and genre.
