‘ASIA’S’ GUITARIST, GUTHRIE GOVAN, HAS BEEN CONFIRMED TO GUEST THE BLUES GUITAR BREAK AT HIGHGATE HOUSE, NORTHAMPTON, ON DECEGMBER 17 & 18. A FORMER WINNER OF GUITARIST MAGAZINE’S ‘GUITARIST OF THE YEAR’, GUTHRIE IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THE MOST RESPECTED AND ADMIRED GUITARISTS OF THE TIME. HE JOINS NEVILLE MARTEN AND JASON SIDWELL FOR GUITAR BREAK’S CHRISTMAS SPECIAL…THE PERFECT WINTER BLUES!!

This December is the final Guitar Break Weekend of 2005 and it boasts to be the best yet. The Blues Level 3 weekend course is designed for those guitarists who have a reasonable grasp of Blues chords and lead playing; the major and minor pentatonic scales and a good idea of how to play a straight 12 bar blues solo.
The 2 day intensive itinerary is perfect for guests that will want to learn more sophisticated arrangements, neater licks and better techniques, and gain better insight into Blues improvisation. And, who better to lead you through it all than blues master, Neville Marten and theory guru, Jason Sidwell. This fantastic mix of inspiration and theoretical excellence make for a well-rounded and in-depth learning experience.
If that wasn’t enough, Guthrie Govan has now confirmed that he will be taking part in the weekend. As Neville says, it wasn’t easy getting him, “I have been talking to Guthrie for a while now about taking part in a Guitar Break but he has just been too busy. As much as he wanted to do it, his touring and recording schedules never seem to give up so we are delighted to finally see him take part.”
