Not everyone wants to be the next Hendrix. And not everyone desires fame and fortune, or even to make a living from playing their guitar.

Equally there are thousands of guitarists out there who take their playing very seriously. They want to improve, play with more feeling, realise technical advancement and generally know they’re moving forward.

Guitar Break have selected a number of hotels in beautiful surroundings, where a limited number of guitarists (usually around 30, split into two classes of 15) can receive ‘real-world’ guitar tuition of the highest standard, from some of the country’s most respected players and guitar tutors.

The Guitar Break weekends feature top guitar tutors such as Neville Marten (Guitar Techniques Editor), Jason Sidwell (Senior Music Editor of Total Guitar, Guitar Techniques and Guitarist), Dave Kilminster, Phil Hilborne, Jamie Humphries, Guthrie Govan and David Mead – all top teachers and renowned music book authors. Guitar Break strives to offer the best guitar tuition to all the weekend breaks, from those on the front line of the music industry.

Guitar Break launches this spring (May 27/28/29) with its first exclusive Rock & Blues guitar weekend at Bailbrook House in Bath. The rest of 2005’s programme sees other exclusive courses such as Classic Rock, Modern Rock, Stepping Up To Jazz, Acoustic Fingerstyle and Blues.

Guitar Break creator, music journalist and musician, Neville Marten says that the Guitar Break experience is not one to miss: “Imagine a bunch of guitarists getting together in comfortable, relaxed surroundings, receiving priceless tuition from inspiring teachers, playing to their hearts’ content and going away in better musical shape, more confident in their abilities and dying to get on and play even more. That’s how we want your Guitar Break to be”.
